I just finished East Of Eden and just wanted to say it was phenomenal. I usually have trouble finishing 400+ page books. I usually have no trouble getting started but can get bored as I finish it. Something about the character development in East Of Eden with Sam Hamilton and Cathy Ames really just amazed me and drew me in so much that even as I thought it slowed down a bit at the end I could not help and finish to find out what happened. OK, so like 10 minutes ago I run into my local corner store for some eggs, butter, cheese & a splurge purchase on these new Lays Masala chips. Debit card funks out at the POS. So i step aside and let everyone go while I tap.tap.tap. on the phone. Went to ATM, got the cash, went to pay only to find out that the fantsically awesome gentlemen ahead of me had paid for my bill (20~).So, with cash in hand, I tear out of the building, looking left and right for the gent that was so kind.I see him!!!Run towards him shouting; Wait! Wait! Wait! Sir! Sir! Sir!The dude turns, and says he was glad to do it, and I didn’t need to pay him.So. To the beauty gent in the knitted sweater, thank you from the bottom of my heart. No one has done anything like this for me in a long time, where someone gives, without wanting to receive. Just got two part-time jobs, because I need to eat and pay my rent. Had to spend $50 on work boots for the first job, then $30 for a shirt, $16 for an apron, and 64.99 plus tax for my CannSell for the second. That’s about $170 altogether. Both jobs pay $15.00/hr, which is going to be minimum wage on January 1st.I’m going to have to pay rent late and I am literally eating noodles once a day because I need to use the small amount of money I have left for bus fare to get to and from work. I needed that $170 to live, but it went to paying to be allowed a job instead.
