I don’t really follow politics as much as I should but I just read that the Ontario government is giving their MPPs a $16K raise which brings their annual salaries to over $132K while people with disabilities are barely scraping by with nearly $15K a year from ODSP. The SignalR subreddit is pretty dead, which makes me cautious. If I want to push data to clients as soon as it’s calculated, is SignalR still the way to go? It seems to have benefits over polling a REST endpoint.If so, does anyone know the best practice for separating your logic from the SignalR hub? My instinct is to make my hub like a controller where all it does is call a “handler” class with my logic. Should I do that and inject a HubContext wherever I want to send data to clients? I recently picked up *Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe* on recommendation of my friend, it is touting 4 awards on the front cover and it’s super annoying because I really like the cover design. I don’t like that its unremovable, I don’t need to be sold this books every time I look at it after I’ve already purchased it. It feels to me like it’s just there so people can bring it up when telling others about a book so it makes them seem smart. It’s one of those things like “NYT #1 Bestseller” or having a bunch of reviews on the front cover (something I have seen before) and it just makes it feel less classy. I also think it’s unnecessary, awards shouldn’t be what sells a book because an award is based on other people’s opinions. I as the customer don’t gain anything from it after purchasing the item because they cover up the beautiful cover art. It’s great in some situations where there’s plenty of negative space in the cover illustration (like The Hate U Give) but otherwise it’s just a nuisance. I wouldn’t mind having a little awards list on the back cover, that would be good info, but about a sixth of the cover is taken up by these and I find it so annoying Is anyone else kind of annoyed by these? This is so frustrating. I tested positive for covid on Friday after developing symptoms earlier in the week. My symptoms have been like a really bad cold and bronchitis, but I have asthma, so I have to monitor my symptoms a bit more closely. Yesterday I noticed I was having to breathe deeper to get a good breath, so I called telehealth at about 8 am. They took my phone number and said they’d call me back soon. They literally never called even though I know they had the right number and my phone was available the whole time.My breathing is the same today and I’ve been taking my asthma medication. I also feel lightheaded, so I figured it was time to go to urgent care in case I’m not getting enough oxygen. I go to the hospital closest to my house and urgent care is literally closed because they’re so overwhelmed. I then go to the next closest hospital and it was packed. What’s the point in sitting there for hours if I’m not basically gasping for air? There’s no point.Now I’m back at home just hoping for the best.
