I had this giant yam. Peeled it and cut into 1” pieces. Next i took an onion, 2 bell peppers, and a broccoli crown, cut them into 1”pieces, tossed everything in avocado oil salt and pepper and roasted at 425°F for 45 minutes. Had some boiled Yukon gold potatoes on hand and roasted them too.Served the roasted veggies in a big bowl with quinoa. Topped it with some Greek yogurt I mixed some everything bagel seasoning into.Delightful. via /r/vegetarian https://ift.tt/nGtg0OF

I went to my 38-week appointment yesterday and my medical center has a greeter-type person in the front to help give directions, etc. She said to me “you know where you’re going today, mommy?” And I said “yep, 4th floor.”She said “Let me guess, you’re having a girl, right?”And I said “Yup, cuz I’m carrying high, right?” (Strangers love to tell me I’m carrying high)She said “yeah, and wide, too! Girls will make you gain a lot of weight!”Uh whaaaat? Lol? I’ve never seen this woman before in my life so how would she know how much weight I’ve gained? She also didn’t know I’m 38 weeks so yeah lady, I’m obviously huge! I just laughed it off and kept walking but I was flabbergasted to say the least.I asked my husband “did that lady just call me fat?” He said she was probably drunk, which is the safe response on his part because he knows not to engage when I am getting weird about my body lolWhat’s the most disturbing comment you’ve gotten about your body lately? via /r/pregnant https://ift.tt/GVd3ZKi

After three hours of pushing, an episiotomy, and three attempts with the vacuum, my pregnancy ended in a c-section. If my delivery was the menu at your local Mister Carwash, I got “The Worx”.I spent 2 weeks postpartum in adult diapers. One week in extra long overnight maxi pads. Two weeks in panty liners. I was just starting to feel confident that I could free my poor vagina and make it whole day while my high-waisted granny panties stay dry. It had been days since I last said “Did I just give birth to Flubber?” after wiping. The clear stringy goobers were finally gone.I was a whole new woman! I mowed my poor, neglected pubic lawn in celebration. I waved goodbye to my loincloth as they floated down the shower drain. “I know I haven’t seen you in a few months, but it’s time for us to start fresh”.Yesterday, as I was driving home from an adventure with my 6 week old cherub of a son, I felt it. My uterus. She had already been through so much. Surely she can’t be rebooting already—I know she’s as tired as I am. I go to the bathroom, and sure enough, there is my estranged Aunt Flo mixed in with pieces of the slowly degrading threads that are holding my labia together.Six weeks and one day postpartum, my period arrived. She came back with a vengeance. Mother Nature is a cruel woman. I can’t even use tampons yet. Welcome back, overnight extra longs! via /r/pregnant https://ift.tt/ZlewARx

I snagged this text off of someone’s comment a few months ago, knowing I was going to need something polite and pre-written in the future. It has come in very handy for me now that I am overdue and the daily “I’m just checking in,” texts will not stop.I know they’re well-meaning, but gosh darn it do they aggravate me! My friends at least seem to be able to hold off for a few days at a time but my mom can’t and I can’t handle the daily communication with her. We just don’t have that kind of relationship, so this message worked pretty well with her.So in case anyone else needs something to copy and paste so they don’t snap at their loved ones, here you go:”I am doing well, just feeling like I need some space. We might be a little less responsive for the foreseeable future. We would like to take some time together to relax and recharge before this big change occurs. We promise we will reach out and let you know if we need support or if we have any concerns but if you don’t hear from us for a while, please do not worry.” via /r/pregnant https://ift.tt/pyWzHkn

I’m 8 weeks PP and just gave in and bought an Artipoppe carrier. In the first few weeks of my baby’s life I went through 4 different carriers – Solly, Kyte, Ergo & Tula (gifted and hand me downs). Every single one either baby or I was uncomfortable or unhappy in some way—baby would fuss as soon as I put him in, or I ended up with a super sore back after an hour.I kept seeing the referral codes on every mom group I was in and, in a weak MOTN moment, gave in and bought an Artipoppe. I’ll preface by saying I describe myself as a ~Maxxinista~ and very rarely buy designer or otherwise splurge-y items. It’s been a week with my Artipoppe and I fully believe the hype (and price) is worth it. And I truly didn’t want to like it. Baby hasn’t fussed one time while in it, I wore him on a 2 mile walk without a sore back, and I actually feel GOOD wearing it, like I’m wearing a beautiful accessory—it looks amazing and is much better quality than any of my others. The waist band is generous and offers nice support, and unlike some of the others I can easily put it on/off by myself.I appreciate that you can achieve the same outcome with a different, much more affordable carrier. And that for some splurging on an unnecessary baby item isn’t an option. But if a purchase like this is within your means and you’ve been on the fence about purchasing like I was.. I say go for it! They’re so beautiful. I’m happy to answer any questions about my [albeit short] experience with it.And yes, I have a referral code if you’d like 🤠 message me! via /r/pregnant https://ift.tt/etk6spu
